Cell Phone Directory

Mobile developments in Cell Phone number search for a cell phone directory

As time progressed there have been lots of developments in the phonebook system of our mobile phones. These developments cater to easier browsing through cell directories.

Some cell phones have automated cell phone directory in their systems. You can just type in the first few letters of the name of the person you want to text and they either give you choices of possible phonebook entries or lead you to the phonebook entry you are looking for.

This cell phone directory feature is very helpful for people who are always on the go or who are always running against time. You don’t have to browse through your contacts tediously and take more time than is necessary. Sometimes you press the wrong button and would have to repeat the process again. Sometimes, you key in the wrong phonebook entry so you would have to search again.

Some mobile phones have very complicated phonebook interfaces for a cell phone directory. Searching for a phonebook entry may require several buttons to be pressed. This is very irritating when you don't have time to spare, or if you need to send the message immediately.

Product designers of mobile phone hardware and software have started incorporating improvements in mobile phone designs, interfaces and systems. A lot of these developments include those changes with the incorporated phonebook in the unit.

Phonebooks in different mobile phones are more user- friendly and have more features than old models. Here are a few of the developments:

1. Easy cell phone # search

Before, you have to access the cell directory of the unit, and browse through the list of numbers one by one. Now, you can just key in the first few letters of the name you are looking for and the phonebook will generate a list of possible names of your contacts or lead to the contact detail of the person you’re looking for.

2. Favorites feature

Some mobile phones have the favorites feature wherein you can add the entries of your most contacted people and be readily accessed every time you want to text or call that person.

This cell phone directory feature allows you to skip rummaging through your comprehensive lists of contacts and just scroll through a shorter one.

3. Groups

Most phonebook systems can have their contacts grouped into different shorter lists. You can simply create labels to group your contacts according to the most suitable divisions. Most common labels used are family, friends, colleagues, church and other names of cliques.

This cell phone directory feature allows the user to browse shorter lists of contacts just like in the favorites feature.

Favorites are actually one example of a group list. However, some mobile phones place the list of favorites contact separately from other labels.

4. First name or Surname basis

Most phonebooks have separate tabs for the first name and surname of the contact person. You can choose to arrange your contacts alphabetically by surname or alphabetically by first name.

This feature paved the searching through phonebook entries by entering either the first few letters or the first name or surname of the contact person you’re searching.

In some phones you may opt to enter the first few letters and they will give you either the possible first name or surname match. While in other phones, they give you both matches to surnames and first names in your cell phone directory.

Cell phone directories have many lookup features the most popular feature is the cell phone reverse phone lookup.
